Lydia P. Sheckels of Wescott Financial Named to NAPFA’S Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region Board
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Lydia P. Sheckels, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Wescott Financial Advisory Group LLC, has been appointed to a two-year term on the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region Board of Directors for the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
NAPFA is the country’s leading professional association of fee-only financial advisors — highly trained professionals who are committed to working in the best interests of those they serve.

Sheckels is a Certified Financial Planner ™, Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. At Wescott, she co-chairs the firm’s Investment Committee, which is responsible for Wescott’s asset allocation models and investment strategies. She is also chair of Wescott’s Portfolio Strategy Group, overseeing the ongoing due diligence and evaluation of investment managers and strategies. As Wescott’s Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, she is responsible for manager due diligence and investment market research. With a professional background in financial planning and investment management, she practices in the areas of insurance analysis and planning, tax and cash flow management, and estate planning.
Sheckels has made many contributions to the financial planning profession and has held the following leadership roles in the industry:
- President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning, serving as a member of the Practitioner Advisory Council and the Public Awareness Advisors
- President of the Estate and Financial Planning Council of Southern New Jersey
- President of the South Jersey Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals
- Member of the Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) National Ethics Committee, which investigates complaints and enforces the FPA Code of Ethics
- Member of the NAPFA University School of Practice Management
- Instructor for Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation courses sponsored by the Society of Financial Service Professionals
Sheckels was awarded the Five Star Wealth Manager of Philadelphia distinction by Philadelphia Magazine. She has spoken to numerous professional and civic organizations and given financial advice to the readers of The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Reuters, Financial Planning Magazine, Financial Advisor, Mutual Fund Magazine, Fidelity.com, Bloomberg Wealth Manager, The Philadelphia Inquirer and other news media.
Sheckels received a bachelor’s degree from Providence College. She joined Wescott in 1991 and resides in Moorestown, N.J.
