Wescott Financial Founder & CEO Grant Rawdin to Be Honored at UAC 45th Anniversary Breakfast

PHILADELPHIA, PA, November 20, 2014 – Wescott Financial Advisory Group, an SEC-registered wealth management firm serving high-net-worth individuals and institutions, is pleased to announce that Founder and CEO, Grant Rawdin, J.D., CFP®, will receive the Doer Award at the Urban Affairs Coalition (UAC) 45th Anniversary Breakfast on November 21st at the Hyatt at The Bellevue.  Inspired by former Pennsylvania Governor Edward G. Rendell, the Doer Award is presented to an individual who has made the communities of Philadelphia a better place to live, work and play.

“I am honored to receive this prestigious award from UAC,” said Rawdin, a member of the Coalition board since 2004 and chair of the board for the last four years.  “It is important to me to be civically engaged.  Giving back to the Philadelphia region, helping to instill its communities with hope and fostering growth, is an essential mission to me.  I am thankful for the support of colleagues, clients, friends and family who have helped champion the many civic organizations in the city, including the Coalition, making Philadelphia a better place to be. ”

Rawdin has been civically active in the Philadelphia community for over 25 years, serving on the board of directors of the Child Guidance Center (now merged with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia) for five years, and chairing the board of directors of the People’s Emergency Center—one of the largest providers in the area of shelter services, and developers of transitional housing , rental housing, and homes for ownership—for six years as well as being active in the Center’s foundation for many years.

UAC President & CEO, Sharmain Matlock-Turner, said, “UAC is honored to present  the Doer Award to Grant.  His service to the community and exemplary leadership of the Coalition has helped us drive change from the ground up, and surpass this year’s fundraising goal.  His tireless dedication to UAC and the community at large is inspiring, and we are grateful for his support.”

A graduate of Temple University and its Beasley School of Law, Rawdin has been on the law school’s Board of Visitors for five years and is the current President of the Temple School of Law Foundation.
