Wescott Financial Managing Director Karen McIntyre Named to Board of Child Home and Community

PHILADELPHIA, PA  – Wescott Financial Advisory Group, an SEC-registered wealth management firm serving high-net-worth individuals and institutions, is pleased to announce that Managing Director and Senior Financial Advisor Karen McIntyre has been appointed to the board of Child Home & Community (CHC). In addition, McIntyre will serve on the board’s Finance Committee.

CHC was started in January 1980 by Doris Price — a school nurse — and Kathy Dwyer — a teacher — to meet the physical, emotional and educational needs of pregnant and parenting teens.  The co-founders ran the program from a small home office.  Today, CHC administers a wide array of educational programs at nine hospitals and 13 school districts.  The agency services approximately 800 young parents and their babies each year.

CHC’s goal is to ensure healthy births, enhance family stability and promote self-sufficiency.  The organization sponsors free childbirth classes, support groups, career counseling and other advocacy services to teens throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties at dozens of locations.  More information is available on their website:  http://www.chcinfo.org/.

At Wescott, McIntyre provides financial planning and wealth management advice and services, specializing in working with women, professionals and small business owners, as well as clients who are newly widowed or divorced.

Karen received her bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology from Ithaca College, and is a registered trust representative and a Certified Financial Planner®.

Wescott is proud to be among the nation’s largest independent wealth managers with 400 clients and $1.8 billion in assets under management.  The firm is managed from offices in Philadelphia, Penn, Boca Raton and Miami, Fla., and San Francisco, Calif.
